Simple indium and zinc salts have been successfully used as catalysts for the rearrangement of oximes into primary amides. The direct synthesis of nitriles or primary amides from aldehydes has also been demonstrated using these inexpensive catalysts.Simple indium and zinc salts are shown to be effective alternatives to precious metals for the rearrangement of oximes into amides.Image for unlabelled figure
