A highly efficient photoinduced multicomponent difunctionalization of 2,3-dihydrofuran has been developed for the synthesis of 2,3-disubstituted tetrahydrofurans under mild reaction conditions. Compared to the previous procedures, the new regioselectivity of the olefin in 2,3-dihydrofuran is disclosed. Moreover, a wide range of functional groups were tolerated and the corresponding products were obtained in high yields.

A simple and efficient strategy for the synthesis of 3-sulfenyl and 3-selenyl indoles via a visible light-induced tandem cyclization of 2-alkynylanilines with disulfides (diselenides) was developed. The reaction generated the corresponding products in good yields at room temperature under transition metal-free and photocatalyst-free conditions.

A visible-light-induced and iron-catalyzed methylation of arylacrylamides by dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO) is achieved, leading to 3-ethyl-3-methyl indolin-2-ones in high yields. This reaction tolerates a series of functional groups, such as methoxy, trifluoromethyl, cyano, nitro, acetyl and ethyloxy carbonyl groups. The visible-light promoted radical methylation and arylation of the alkenyl group are involved in this reaction.

A simple and efficient method for the preparation of α-arylthioethers through a visible-light-induced direct thiolation at α-C(sp3)–H of ethers with diaryl disulfides was developed using acridine red as a novel photocatalyst. The reactions occurred at ambient conditions and generated the corresponding products in good to excellent yields, ignoring steric effect of disulfides.

A simple and efficient protocol for nickel-catalyzed regioselective C–H bond difluoroalkylation of 8-aminoquinoline scaffolds with functionalized difluoromethyl bromides was developed. The reaction has broad substrate scope and provides a facile and useful access to the corresponding C5-functionalized difluoromethylated quinolines in good to excellent yields.

A room temperature decarboxylative ortho-acylation of acetanilides with α-oxocarboxylic acids has been developed via a novel Eosin Y with Pd dual catalytic system. This dual catalytic reaction shows a broad substrate scope and good functional group tolerance, and an array of ortho-acylacetanilides can be afforded in high yields under mild conditions.

Abstract
In continuing our efforts to develop economical and ecofriendly synthetic protocols, we present a proline–palladium catalyst supported on magnetic nanoparticles (0.5 mol %) for oxidation by molecular oxygen. The supported Pd catalyst shows high activity in the oxidation of alcohols into the corresponding carbonyl compounds where easy catalyst recovery and excellent recycling efficiency are observed. It is possible to recover and reuse the grafted palladium catalysts at least eight times without significant loss of its catalytic activity.
